Privacy Policy
Last updated: August 2026
This policy explains what personal data The Wanderers World ("we", "us") collects, why, and what your rights are. We are a small independent travel-guide site run by Paul and Emma. We keep data collection to a minimum and we do not sell it.
Who we are
The Wanderers World is the data controller for the information described here. If you have any questions, email us at hello@thewanderers.world.
What we collect
- Your email address, but only if you choose to subscribe to our newsletter.
- Anything you send us when you email us directly (your message and address).
- Basic technical logs. Our host records standard server information such as IP address and browser type to keep the site running and secure. We do not use this to identify you.
We do not collect names, payment details, or special category data, and we do not run advertising trackers.
How we use it
- To send you the newsletter you signed up for, and nothing else.
- To reply to you if you get in touch.
- To keep the site working, secure and improving.
Our legal bases are your consent (for the newsletter, which you can withdraw at any time) and our legitimate interests (replying to you and running the site).
Who we share it with
We only share data with the services that help us run the site, each acting on our behalf:
- Beehiiv to store our mailing list and send the newsletter.
- Vercel to host the website.
- Sanity to manage our content.
Each has its own privacy policy. We never sell or rent your data to anyone.
Affiliate links
Some links to hotels, tours and gear are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. Once you leave our site, the partner handles your data under their own policy.
Cookies
The site itself sets very little. See our Cookie Policy for the detail.
Keeping your data
We keep newsletter data until you unsubscribe, after which we remove you from the active list. You can unsubscribe from any email using the link at the bottom of it.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, or stop using it, and you can withdraw consent at any time. To do any of these, email hello@thewanderers.world. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ico.org.uk).
Children
The site is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change how we handle data, we will update this page and the date above. If you are interested in working with us, see Work with us, or just say hello via Contact us.
